Finding the depths
Of a life lived in fear
Glimmer of hope
Ask God to draw near
Facing the past
Great harms to the world ...

Let me swim now in your sweetness
In love, in your rippling waves
Let me rest now in your kindness
In a love that never fades
Offer me every last breath
Let me feast in your most sacred space ...

Your growing hunger
Feeds my darkest need for more
Feast now on my soul

“The lane is more familiar tonight,” I think, as I
focus on this breath, and the next. The birds
are more vocal; the serenade feels somehow…
coordinated – or perhaps unified is a better word.
So many voices from unseen places
in the green and healthy trees – old, tall, strong. ...

With lilacs and lavenders, sweetening the air,
As we walk gently through the warm meadow,
Contentedness and peace settle in to the scene;
Contentedness and peace flow through our hearts.
The breeze through the leaves of the nearby trees
Are crisp yet soft under the midday sun, ...

Butterfly blown by the morning winds
Caught by the unseeable forces that move
Surprised by the suddenness
Caught up in the unstoppable power
Thoughts gain speed as the rush overtakes
Lost in the perilous spaces ...

Surrender to me
Sweet daughter of lust
Answer my plea
I beg you; you must!
Caught up in the place
Where hell’s fires burn ...

Show me your thoughts
Take me into your mind
Show me the way
Let me feel your design
To see through your eyes
And feel your soft care ...

One that warms my heart
One that fills my world
One whose strength supports
One who excites me
One who enchants me
One who is exceptional ...

Just beyond the limits of my periphery
I catch a glimpse of the colors of flow
Red, violet, indigo…
and colors that I don’t know
Closing my eyes tight and sure
The warmth of the colors come into view ...

Move my heart toward your heart
Amplify my longing, draw me near
Refresh me with a brand new start
Drive from me the shrinking fear
Alive in you, your kingdom come
Living in the beauty of now ...

Open the curtains
Crank up the tunes
There is no sadness
There are no spoons
Start to move
Your tired feet ...

Gratefulness flows
From the mind of a child
Tender and kind
Humble and mild
Life in the Way
Touches my heart ...

Pursuing you in love
My God, I worship you
I hunger for your truth
In all I say and do
Grant to me your heart
Bathe me in your Light ...

My work is first
My son, follow me
Answer the call
Bend now your knee
Anointing your life
Granting great gifts ...

Spreading like fire
Your word overtakes
A loving, kind God
Who never forsakes
Nothing matters more
Than sharing your words ...

In every living moment
Choices present themselves
Every step, every thought
Each and every perception
A song plays in the hearing
Of a walker on the path ...

God’s highest calling
In this, the highest moment
Pause to see Him here

To humbly teach
What we have learned
To share the lessons
Together discerned
The craft of words
A gift to write ...

moving beyond the present space

breathe deeply in the healing air

Father God, this pain, release

Source of all power
Come to me this hour

As I approach you this morning
This beginning of a day of vast possibilities
As I gently walk toward your waiting beauty

Remove from me this feeling

Three hawks soar up above
Into the bright setting sun
A sign of the most holy moment

Three souls look from below

Wondrous woman of God
Flowing in goodness and grace
Touching my life with your strength

Faithful, sincere, always true
