emerging through pain

chrysalis struggles to make her way out
wings fully formed, ready for new flight
i watch in perilous anticipation
as she fights to make a new start

wanting to help her to break free, but it's not for me
virgin butterfly must make her own way
i'll be waiting for that fresh new day
meanwhile, all i can do.... is pray
