Walking

Walking along the path of life
I paused for a moment’s rest
Breathed in a large portion of the morning’s air
And thanked the flowers for being there

The song from the trees was rich and sweet
The birds were singing it just for me
And the sun shone bright this brand new day
As I took a moment to pause and pray

In silent words I spoke to you
Searched my heart for all I sought
Offered you my mind and soul
Take me Father, in part and whole

Blessed morning, you and me
Walking on in glory and peace
Fill me Lord with grace and love
Serenaded by creatures above

Walking on, I brave a smile
Life with you is grand and kind
New days spring in childlike joy
Make this man a carefree boy

Walking along the path of life
Each day loving, feeling, giving
Learning lessons, being alive
Holy serenity, here, now, dive

Touched by God’s Hand
Walked in our pain
For us, took a stand

Loving Teacher
Example of divine love
Lessons of salvation
Straight from above

Present Helper
From now until the end
Cares so much for each of us
Even calls you friend

Beautiful Savior
Covenant bold and true
Formed before creation
Of Father, from Son to you

Love’s Tragedy

Sought for a lifetime
Growing lessons learned
Hope’s flame burned on
For oh so long a time

Glimpses of each other
Joined eternally in a bold instant
Dreams of forever
Held for a lifetime

And then we touched
And life flowed and ebbed
Lows gone
Life in blessed joy

You were loved, lover, love
As in ancient days past
Beauteous days
Blissful smiles glowing

Hope in destiny restored
Loving forevermore
Tears of great fervor
Dance of intense need

In a moment
For a lifetime
Or so it seemed
Tragic ends, life’s cruel fates

Please, never forget
The magical universes we forged
The healing power of life
Still surrounds

God took me
If only I had one more day
To write these words to you
And end your tears

I await our restoration
At heaven’s gate
And believe
Love will rise again

Love Lost

Blazing hot desert
Took him away that night
My heart is ice
Frozen in the time of memories

Destined to be joined
Serendipity drew us together
When I looked into your heart
Through dark eyes so strong

Moons phases many
Seasons flowed twice
Rescued in your embrace
Promised for all time

All we touched was bright
World alive in our love
Answered wishes glowing
In the hope of our hearts

My love for you grew
You were loyal and true
Not only to me
But, to your fathers’ noble calling

A soldier from birth
You could not be changed
When your duties called
I smiled as you followed

Deep inside me
I somehow knew
This was to be
Our final embrace

The letter arrived
My soul’s final cries
Forever alone
As love slowly dies

We share a deep shudder
We have connected
In a divine embrace

My eyes locked in yours
Fingertips sparked as they touched
Apprehension building
Power of great love

Fear overtook my thoughts
Love overran my fear
Circle flowing freely
Completion drawing near

Anticipating the moment
When you would pull me close
Explosions of our souls
Merging forevermore

And then the instant came
Power of the sun
Filled with a great fury
Embracing essence one
