A stark glance at starbirth
The haunting now replaced
In explosions of her music
Through the once forgotten place
The vivid red velvet
Of a redawning star
Once a time to remember
Forgotten still thus far
Born into wealth
Colliding within
Awakened refrains
Asleep in the din
Beginnings of nothing
New strawberry haze
Lost in her revolt
And lost in heaven’s gaze

He saw the man staring down at him

An instant’s choice

He saw the man staring up at him
He laughed in that particularly evil way
The reaper had taught him so long ago
The paralyzed man was seeking
Was struggling for the comfort of a breath
Denying the impossible truth
That he was so near death
He laughed again
In spite of the view
That held him caught
In perspective new
Looking up
He begged for another chance
Why is the messenger upon me?
Is this the final dance?
The reaper bared his sickle
Time could wait no more
He readied for the final cut
Prepared for this next chore
An instant of indecision
Stopped his hand in flight
Remembering the moment
Caught in a flicker of light
He handed the blade to the other
And the other wasted no time
Sliced into the messenger
And leapt into sublime
Forever destiny held
The reaper’s son lives on
First kill was his maker
Ascension of the spawn
Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry
Sweet tastes on our tongues
Collecting four-leaf clovers
Memories of when we were young
Dancing on a rainbow
Hanging from the nearest star
Feelings of aliveness
Mindful of all we are
Living a life of bliss and joy
Walking with you each day
Creating love with each new step
Together forever we’ll stay
From the blooming of creation
In the minds’ most distant star
I look toward a bright night sky
In heaven there you are
From the first view in the morning
To the last prayer late at night
Forever is my soul now joined
As we walk in your great light
The bird’s song is for you, my child
The sun gently rises as you wake
All things made with you in mind
All things for love’s sake
