Winter’s River

The sweetness of your strength
Entices my imaginings
Your icy chilled gaze
Stills my need
Yet fuels my desire
You — feminine, perfection — tower
Above the smoldering ash
That was my confidence
You — goddess, light — dazzle
Blind me in the falling ripples
That were
my sanity

What is woman…
if not mystery?
What is man…
devoid of quest?

In your striking gaze
I am set afire
as feminine wonder
meets masculine blaze

In your subtle scent
I am awakened
As water flows
Beneath the iced layer
Winter’s river
Quiet stratums
of you

Doubt’s Redress

Shocking revelations
Queries forever unspoken
Wonders unaddressed
In the redress of yesterday’s today

Unforsaken platitudes
Unformed seeds of colored thoughts
Malformed impressions
Manifest on the untrodden path
Darkened by the lengthening shadows

Quiet epiphanies
Seeking the vacuum of quiet reflections
Ripples on the pond of eternity
Disturbing the unrealized moment
Of a thought disallowed
A dream disavowed
A quest abandoned
In the blinking moment
Of doubt

Blossom

Bursting forth from the frozen tundra
Flower begins to reach toward the sun
Growing from the bulb planted in warmth
Filled in the nutrients of a giving earth

Quiet peace flows from the vision
Of the petals, pure, true and new
Love most perfect, real and forever
Beautiful blossom of most soft petals

Quiet Rage

Quiet smoldering anger
Inferring all that blooms
Growing in ferocity
Sacred fire consumes

Dark place underground
Seed of quiet rage
Insanity fuels the ire
Inflames the rising sage

Soul at your command
Heal the place within
Wake the sleeping mind
Dance of lasting din

Awakening Mind

Awakening force
Drives out the sleeping fox
Shatters the open window
Is the wind of change’s wing

Compassionate mind
Cold to the silent touch
Sharp knife of ancient wisdom
Drawing spirit through clenched teeth

Quiet breath
Stilling the nagging thoughts
See One in the mind of Christ
Peace sought, found, realized; God is home
