kneeling before you

a touch of soft skin
your lips meeting mine
closing your eyes
look, see the sign

releasing the magic
crossing the line
surrendering all
come, let me dine

sparks of white light
exploding, divine
dance of two souls
mystics entwine

kneeling before you
expose now your shrine
most sacred demands
oh lover, be mine

A Crossing of Paths

Searched from the lowest valley
to the peak most high
Looked under every stone
and behind even the tallest wall

Finally
gave up the search

Before the next moon
there you were
in wonderful glory
in miraculous beauty
in amazing love
in perfect loveliness

God’s greatest gift
stood in front of me
and said “hello”
and I looked askance
and I risked a smile
and I chose to hope
and I found belief
that He had destined
our crossing of paths

Over a year later
my love for you grows ever stronger
I revere you
I adore you
I surrender to the love we share
I thank God
that you are mine
and I too
am yours

two eyes, one view

two eyes
two visions
merging
separating
perceptions
sensory cues
images stored
retrieved from the mind’s eye
echoes of yesterday
ripples into tomorrow
touching today
meeting in an instant
can one eye perceive depth?
can two eyes not project?
memories of a distant view
perceptions of a moment new
seen by one or two
undertake the next coup
intermingled
thoughts, visions, feelings, beliefs
coupled with another’s
creating a new reality
ride the new waves
curtail the resistance
recognize the new reality
built on a word
and a look
and a dream
in an instant
here and now
hear and know
see and renew
be and believe
trust and perceive
in a moment conceive
and all is well
here in this space in time
where two meet
and join
as one

Ascension of the Spawn

Looking up
He saw the man staring down at him
The resemblance was uncanny
His mood changed at once
From confusion to fright
From dimness to darkest night
Lost in the moment
Frozen in this sight

He stilled his breath
He gulped for life
An instant’s choice
The fate of life

Looking down
He saw the man staring up at him
He laughed in that particularly evil way
The reaper had taught him so long ago
The paralyzed man was seeking
Was struggling for the comfort of a breath
Denying the impossible truth
That he was so near death

He laughed again
In spite of the view
That held him caught
In perspective new

Looking up
He begged for another chance
Why is the messenger upon me?
Is this the final dance?

The reaper bared his sickle
Time could wait no more
He readied for the final cut
Prepared for this next chore

An instant of indecision
Stopped his hand in flight
Remembering the moment
Caught in a flicker of light

He handed the blade to the other
And the other wasted no time
Sliced into the messenger
And leapt into sublime

Forever destiny held
The reaper’s son lives on
First kill was his maker
Ascension of the spawn

Breeze of God

Shallow mind finds stillness
In the thought that You are here
Passing breezes ever distant
Seeking to draw near

With each breath that he draws in
God’s glory fills the space
Deep within an expanding chest
Healing air replace

With every heart beat now and ever
A thought comes into view
She sees the beauty of His love
Each sacred moment, new

In the heart of all God’s children
Each beat, each step, each breeze
Abides perfection of a perfect God
Where she looks, there he sees
