Flowing Life

Looking out my bedroom window
Wondering
Patches of white on the ground
And browns and greens
Sun shines with glory
Lighting the tall strong trees
So many birds in my periphery
As I watch the life flowing around me

Looking into my deepest heart
Wondering
Patches of cold fury emerge
And love and bliss
Son shines with glory
Lighting all who will see
So many angels in my periphery
As I create the life flowing around me

Flowing River, Comforted Land

Water flows through the river of the valley
Twisting and bending and following her form
It knows no other way to exist
Carves her as it flows without end

Deepening of the ancient landscape
Unfamiliar and old and new and changing
Constantly moving toward an unseen place
Nature of existence, dance of water and land

Approaching the great sea, landscape changes
Smoother and wider and calmer, peaceful flow
River and land, land and river, calm bay, warm beach
All is well as  the sun draws the water from the earth

Rains will come again, washing mountains, valley, sea
Be at peace in the perfect knowledge of the great circle
All is precisely as it is supposed to be in this moment
For the waters and the dirt and the rivers and the land

New Moon

Drop of the cool rain
Touches the dying leaf
Tree bows under the weight
Breezes start to blow

Dark seasons begin
Birds returning flight
Looking toward the great cold north
Winter’s dawning blight

Inevitability of nature
Ebbs and flows of time
Circle of instantaneous healing
Peaking new moon’s light

One Hundred and Twenty

Twelve tall trees standing
Forest of ancient strength
Sun touches their highest leaves
Birds nest in the life giving branches

Boughs sway in the breeze
Move in the mighty wind
But the ancient giants stand firm
Nourished from above and below

Twelve decades they have stood
Designed and planted in soil deep
Home to creatures, many
Admired by God above

Surviving for the ages
Living in highest truth
Belief in life of hope and length
Nourished and graced by strength

A visit from an old friend…

Walking home after some time at the fountain tonight, I was a little surprised to be greeted by an old friend. His deep voice brought me comfort as it had so many times before. Such wisdom in his timeless words. I picked him up and we sat on the bench by the street for a while. I listened with piqued interest as he began to sing me his latest song…

Foreverness
Riding on the winds of timeless change
Enjoying a moment’s quiet refrain
Seen from within, all still remains

In the bright morning rays
Looked up toward the divine grays
Floating on the translucent haze
Phoenix rising, wings ablaze

Mind’s ear knows the song’s hues
Bending sounds of tomorrow’s muse
Take the time for a little snooze
In foreverness

And with that, he closed his eyes for a moment… a moment that seemed to stretch into tomorrowness…

He winked and hopped off into the cool grass of the cool evening. Perhaps my friend the frog will grace me with another visit someday soon…
