Timidly
Timidly, he peeks under the door
Stilled by the sight he sees inside
First thought is to jump for joy
Second thought, to run and hide
He finds a space to rest and pray
In his God he dares confide
Mind and heart and spirit dance
One day three will coincide
He knows the river forever moves
Sees it rolling strong and wide
Into an ocean, oh so deep
Ebbing, flowing, with the tide
He chooses to open up the door
Erase the things that did divide
Trust in love, and trust in her
Leave the cold and doubt outside
Now’s the time to take the chance
In love and humble faith decide
Again he offers her his hand
Asks if she would be his bride
I love you.
Will you marry me?
